On August 8, 2016, we held our very first summer camp. It lasted only 5 days and served 30 students, but boy was it exhilarating! This year, we will be running summer camp for six full week and teach 150 students at multiple sites all over Newark. Summer camp is a time we all eagerly anticipate, to explore new subjects, bond with our students, and learn more about life. Come along this journey with us by following us on social media. Summer is here! As our wonderful Spring semester has come to a close, we are in the home stretch of gearing up for our Summer program and we could not be any more excited!
Last Summer was a total success, as we worked with over 100 students around Newark! And this Summer, our number one goal is to share our love for music with as many Newark students as we can. We have been invited to teach at two gardens, The Rock Christian Fellowship Church, all day at Pennington Court, and five days a week at ACCA Creates. It is safe to say, our calendar is full!
We have so many activities in store for our students and can't wait to share updates with you. Stay tuned!

Our students not only worked hard in class, but their hard work also showed up on stage as they performed in front of various audiences for our year-end concerts. It all started with an awesome Practice-A-Thon benefit concert, then our students from Pennington Court performed as we were presented with the Cynthia Platts Award from BONJ.
To wrap up the year, we gave our students the opportunity to perform their solo pieces in front of audiences full of supportive friends and family. Each student did a fantastic job, and was so pleased to present what they had been working hard on this Spring.
We can't wait to see how they progress over the Summer!

With our Summer program coming up, not only are our number of students growing, but our team of high-school and college interns is growing as well! Long days are ahead of us this Summer and we would like to provide our hard-working youth with a free dinner on Wednesday nights to show our appreciation.
